Specialising in custom made riding boot trees and other bespoke items

My passion for working with wood has taken me on a varied and interesting journey. From simple beginnings of making bird boxes with my father from the early 70's, to now perfecting my carpentry skills making bespoke riding boot trees.

In the early 2000's, I went back to college and graduated with a Level 3 City & Guilds qualification in Cabinet Making. This taught me traditional hand-made techniques to create unique and individually designed pieces.

Today, I am now one of the last remaining riding boot tree makers in the country. I now have my own workshop on a farm in rural Northamptonshire where I produce and refurbish bespoke riding boot trees.

Riding Boot Trees

'You make trees for boots?'

What is a boot tree?

If you have a pair of cherished riding boots and want them to keep their shape and last, I make the solid hardwood inserts (trees)  that are custom made to fit your boots.

Why do you need them?

After removing your boots at the end of the day, inserting a pair of custom fit trees will help them keep their shape, stop them from shrinking and creasing at the ankles; helping the longevity of your riding boots.

How long will they last?

Being made from hardwood, the trees will last for many generations and can be altered to refit other boots in the future. As any natural material, the trees themselves will need looking after. This can be done by a simple yearly wax which will preserve them. However, if over time you find your trees needing a little bit more TLC, a refurbishing service is available.

Prices: New pair from £850. Refurbishments from £150. Personal delivery prices are subject to location. Please contact for any further questions or information.
